: : : My girlfriend and I will be in Baja last two weeks of August, coming from Sydney Australia, we know little of what to expect on the ground. Any information regardinghow we might spend two weeks in the Todos Santos area would be helpful. We both ride longboards so info on specific breaks that may suit the longboard would be excellent.

: : : We expect to fly into that area from LA and rent a 4wd, then do some camping etc. Is this the way to go.

: : : Any tips on camp spots/accommodation, breaks, would be a real help.

: : : Thanks in advance

Hey great choice, Ive been to Todos Santos down close to Cabo San Lucas, it's not the island where you find the monster wave. This town is about 1 hr north of Cabo, it's a great hang, great waves, it's a point break, very rocky, very fun, I surfed it in the winter so the swells were coming from the noth/west. What I hear is great in the summer is all the breaks aroud the horn in the Sea of Cortez, all those spots take a south swell, thats where I would surf. I don't think you can rent a 4x4 in the states in bring it into Mexico legally, you should fly into Cabo directly and rent a car down there, nuch cheaper. The only thing is that you would miss the beatifull drive down Baja, well worth it, very hot in the summer. There is surf all the way down from LA to Cabo, you'll have a blast. Write me an e-mail before you come to LA, maybe we,ll hook up and surf Malibu together.
Good luck, Carlos
